Fellowship in Forensic Medical Sciences (Path): Overview and Aims
o The fellowship course and examination principally aims to assess the candidate’s knowledge of forensic pathology and human identification and their ability to apply that knowledge in the practice of the specialty.
o The assessments of the different components of the course, aim to determine whether an individual has successfully acquired a specialist body of knowledge that will underpin their ability to practise in their chosen specialty.
o The overall aim of the examination is to provide external quality assurance that a trainee has fulfilled the requirements to reach the standard appropriate for specialist status and practice as an unsupervised specialist.
